Ian S. Sterling, CFA, President

Ian is responsible for the strategic direction and the day to day operations of the firm. Over the past 10 years at Doherty & Associates, he has accumulated significant experience with respect to all aspects of the firm. Ian has been with the firm during its significant growth and is committed to continuing our tradition of investment and client service excellence. Ian is also committed to community service and volunteers with the Ottawa Hospital Foundation and serves on the Board of Directors of Family Services Ottawa and the Ottawa Symphony.

Bill Wolfenden, CFA, MBA, Senior Vice President, Chief Investment Officer

Bill leads the investment team at Doherty & Associates overseeing all investment analysis and trade execution for client portfolios. Bill joined Doherty & Associates in 2001 and has been in the investment industry for more than 20 years. Bill volunteers with a number of community organizations, and currently acts as a member of the Board of Governors of Carleton University and serves on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Guide Dogs and the Estate Planning Council of Ottawa.

Lloyd Goldstein, MBA, Senior Vice President

Lloyd Goldstein joined our Montreal Magna Vista office in 1998 and brings more than 25 years of investment management experience to the team. His previous experience includes ten years with Standard Life where he held senior positions in equity research and portfolio management, and four years with the Domtar Pension Fund as investment analyst. Lloyd has a B.Comm from McGill University and an MBA from Concordia University.

Fraser Thom, CFA, Vice President, Private Clients

Fraser is responsible for developing Doherty’s private client business and is a member of the investment team. He works closely with the private client service team to ensure our client objectives are met. Fraser currently sits on the Finance Committee for the CHEO Foundation and on the Investment Committee for the Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health.

Paul St. Louis, LLB, TEP, Vice President

Paul supports Doherty & Associates private client business providing professional relationship management to our clients. Paul has over 15 years experience in private client management and has been a volunteer board member with some of the largest charitable organizations in Ottawa. Paul currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Ottawa Heart Institute Research Corporation.

Patricia Fiorino, CGA, CFA, Senior Account Manager

Patricia Fiorino joined our Montreal Magna Vista office in 1994 and brings 15 years of experience to the team. Her previous experience includes equity and fixed income trader for Magna Vista and private client services within Scotia Capital’s wealth management division. Patricia has a B.Comm from Concordia University and is a Certified General Accountant (CGA). Patricia also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Bob is an integral part of our investment team with primary responsibilities for our US and International portfolio’s. Bob joined Doherty in 2008 and has over ten years experience in asset management and corporate finance, including four years as an international equity analyst with a large Canadian pension fund.

Thomas Shaw joined our Montreal Magna Vista office in 1997 and brings 17 years of experience to the team. He serves as our firm's equity trader for Canadian, US and International securities. His previous industry experience includes five years of fixed income trading and cash management.

Greg Hull, Investment Analyst

Greg Hull is an equity analyst at Doherty & Associates, where he joined in 2008. Prior to joining Doherty & Associates, he worked as an analyst for the Pension Fund Division of Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC).

Greg received his Bachelor of Commerce (Honours), with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Economics, from Carleton’s Sprott School of Business. He has passed Level II of the CFA program and is a CFA Level III Candidate.

Chris has accountability for Doherty's finance and administration processes. She and her team provide efficient client-centered processes, while ensuring that the highest ethical standards are met. Chris brings more than 28 years experience in various financial and administrative roles and is a valuable member of the Doherty team that can assist clients on a broad range of issues.

Christina Campbell, Manager, Portfolio Administration

Christina Campbell joined our Montreal Magna Vista office in 2000 as a member of the Portfolio Administration team. She held various roles within the team prior to becoming Manager in 2008. Christina is responsible for coordinating the client reporting process as well as the data integrity of our systems.

Helen joined our Montreal Magna Vista office in 1997 and brings 13 years of experience to the team. Her primary responsibility is assisting and supervising the account reconciliation process and the generation of quarterly client statements. Helen has knowledge in many areas of administration and is relied upon to provide support to the Investment and Administration teams.

Leonardo joined our Montreal Magna Vista office in 2002 and brings 11 years experience to the team, including 4 years as a trader on the floor of the Montreal Stock Exchange. His primary responsibilities include the handling of day-to-day accounting, reconciliation of client accounts and the generation of quarterly client statements. Leo also supports the Investment team in their day-to-day functions.
